What age is Pagio for?
Pagio is designed for children ages 8-15, covering elementary through middle school reading levels. Our AI adapts content difficulty based on each child's age and reading ability, ensuring age-appropriate challenges and engagement. Children under 13 require parental consent to create an account.
How does the character chat feature work?
Our AI-powered character chat lets students have real conversations with characters from their books. After reading a chapter, students can ask questions like "Harry, what was it like the first time you rode a broomstick?" The AI responds in character, helping deepen comprehension and making stories come alive. All conversations are monitored for safety and appropriateness.
Is my child's data safe?
Absolutely. Child safety is our top priority. Pagio is fully COPPA and FERPA compliant. We collect only the minimum data necessary, never sell or share personal information, and don't show any advertising to children. Parents have full access to their child's activity and can request data deletion at any time. All AI conversations are monitored for safety.
Is Pagio free?
Pagio offers free community features including book reviews, book recommendations, and connecting with friends. Premium features like character conversations, comic creation, and personalized articles are available with a 2-month free trial. Pagio is completely free for schools and classrooms.
Can schools use Pagio?
Yes! We partner with schools through our pilot program. Teachers get a dashboard to track student progress, assign books, and monitor engagement. What books are available on Pagio?
Pagio supports thousands of popular children's and young adult books across all genres - from fantasy and adventure to realistic fiction and non-fiction. We don't host the actual book text; instead, we create interactive content around books students are already reading. Students can search for almost any book in our database or request new titles to be added.
How does the rewards system work?
Students earn points and gems by completing reading activities like finishing chapters, passing quizzes, maintaining reading streaks, and creating comics. These can be redeemed in our store for real rewards that schools and parents can customize. The gamification is designed to build intrinsic motivation for reading over time.
How do I monitor my child's activity?
Parents have full visibility into their child's Pagio activity. You can see books they're reading, quiz scores, time spent, and even review AI chat conversations. Access the parent dashboard through your account settings, or contact us to set up parental controls.
